Staff Seconded Overseas
During the year four officers were members of Government sponsored trade missions and the following officers were serving, or had completed their terms of secondment, with overseas organisations:
Asian Development Bank—
Mr J.M. Garland completed a term of one and a half years as Executive Director for Australia
International Bank for Reconstruction and Development—
Mr T.J. Bartley, Alternate Executive Director for Australia, New Zealand and South Africa since 1966
International Monetary Fund—
Mr D.J. Cleary since 1966
Mr W.E. Davies since 1967
Mr D.J. Kelleher since 1967
South Pacific Commission—
Mr R.M. Watson since 1966
Bank of Zambia—
Mr R.G. Sampson completed a three year term in 1968
Mr Alexander Major since 1967
Central Bank of Malaysia—
Mr John Beach completed a three year term in 1968.
Secondments to Reserve Bank
Dr W.G. Dewald—
Associate Professor of Economics, Ohio State University, completed one year with the Bank in 1968
Mr Odd Nordhus—
Bank of Norway, completed two years with the Bank in 1968.
Training Courses
The Bank continued its staff training programme by conducting courses at its Staff Training College at Kirribilli. A number of officers also participated in the following external training courses:
