Academic Panel

The RBA’s Academic Panel strengthens our dialogue with the economics profession.

The Panel meets at least biannually and includes up to a dozen members, with participation rotating over time. Meetings are chaired by the Governor, with senior RBA staff also participating.

The Panel provides the RBA with valuable insights on current economic challenges and the outlook for the economy. This engagement builds on the regular contact that RBA staff already have with academics, as well as the RBA’s longstanding business and community liaison program.

This structured engagement allows the RBA to listen, exchange ideas, and learn from leading economists in academia, contributing to our understanding and informing policy development.
