Modern Slavery Statement January 2024

Commitment to combatting modern slavery

Modern slavery describes situations where offenders use coercion, threats or deception to exploit victims and undermine their freedom. On 1 January 2019, the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018 entered force which established a national Modern Slavery Reporting Requirement. Under this Act, entities have a responsibility to respect human rights in their operations and supply chains, and to take steps to assess and address modern slavery risks.

The Reserve Bank and Note Printing Australia, which is its wholly owned subsidiary, have published their joint 2022-23 Modern Slavery Statement on the Government's Online Register for Modern Slavery Statements. This Statement describes the steps that have been taken to assess and address modern slavery risks in the operations and supply chains of both organisations.
