Bruce Preston is Professor of Economics at the University of New South Wales Business School, a Fellow of The Econometric Society and of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. Prior to joining the University of Melbourne in 2015, Professor Preston held positions at Monash University (Richard Snape Chair) and Columbia University. He has been a Senior Economic Research Advisor to the Reserve Bank of Australia and consultant to the Australian Treasury. He was an Australian Research Council Future Fellow from 2014 to 2018 and an Associate Editor of the European Economic Review from 2011 to 2022. Professor Preston’s research primarily concerns monetary and fiscal policy. He has published in leading international journals, including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Journal of Economic Literature, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of International Economics and the Journal of Econometrics.
