Invitation for Public Comment
In accordance with Section 95A(3) of the EPBC Act, public comment is invited on an action proposed to be taken at the Reserve Bank of Australia Head Office, Sydney, NSW.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is proposing to undertake asbestos remediation and refurbishment works at the Head Office building at 65 Martin Place, Sydney. The project will support the occupation of the RBA in this location for the foreseeable future.
The project will require the removal of all hazardous materials in the building façade, structure and services. Following this work the façade and building interiors will be reconstructed, including the upgrading of services and vertical transport systems to meet contemporary workplace and sustainability requirements.
The project was determined to be a Controlled Action under the EPBC Act, with assessment by preliminary documentation. The controlling provision under Part 3 of the EPBC Act is Commonwealth Action under section 28.
