Financial Aggregates October 2002

Credit provided to the private sector by financial intermediaries rose by 0.5 per cent over October, following a rise of 1.5 per cent over September. Total credit rose by 10.9 per cent over the year to October.

In seasonally adjusted terms M3 increased by 0.1 per cent and broad money was unchanged over October. Over the year to October, M3 increased by 10.1 per cent and broad money rose by 8.9 per cent.

Growth rates are reported seasonally adjusted, and adjusted for the effects of the breaks in series recorded in the footnotes to tables. Figures showing the levels of financial aggregates are not adjusted for series breaks.
