The Reserve Bank is undertaking a migration of RITS Automated Information Facility (AIF) messages from Swift MT format to ISO 20022 message format.
The RITS AIF is an enquiry and reporting service used by Exchange Settlement Account (ESA) holders to perform ESA credit and liquidity management and to receive ESA statements. It is a service offered to a Closed User Group (CUG) of RITS members. The AIF currently uses Swift MT messages exchanged over the SWIFT FIN network. A co-existence period, expected to begin in late 2024, will allow AIF participants to progressively migrate to the equivalent ISO 20022 message formats.
For further information, including a high-level timeline and the list of AIF MT messages to be migrated to the ISO 20022 format, please see:

As part of the RITS AIF ISO 20022 Migration project, the Reserve Bank aims to support RITS AIF members who plan to migrate from the Swift MT to ISO 20022 format with identifying suitable test buddies to assist in generating payments for use in their AIF ISO 20022 testing.
Specifically, the Reserve Bank is collecting Buddy Testing Expressions of Interest (EOI) from RITS AIF members. If interested in buddy testing, a RITS AIF member is expected to submit their EOI at least two months prior to their planned buddy testing period.
The Reserve Bank will publish all buddy testing information gathered via the EOI using the following documents:
RITS AIF ISO 20022 Migration – Test Buddies List – AUSTRACLEAR
RITS AIF ISO 20022 Migration – Test Buddies List – HVCS ISO 20022
RITS AIF ISO 20022 Migration – Test Buddies List – RITS CASH TRANSFER
Each RITS AIF member is responsible for initiating and coordinating their own test activities, including those with a test buddy. Members should refer to the above lists to identify and connect with a test buddy for their AIF ISO 20022 testing. The Reserve Bank will update the above documents in the first and third weeks of each calendar month as it receives member EOIs. All personal information contained in the above documents has been collected and shared by the Reserve Bank in accordance with the RITS Personal Information Collection Notice (RITS PICN).
