Assistant Governor (Economic)
The Reserve Bank today announced the appointment of Glenn Stevens to the position of Assistant Governor (Economic). The position became vacant when Stephen Grenville was appointed Deputy Governor.
Mr Stevens holds degrees from Sydney University and the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He has had extensive experience in economic analysis of the Australian economy and has written widely on monetary policy. He was inaugural Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Pacific Basin Monetary and Economic Studies at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 1990. He joined the Reserve Bank in 1980, and has worked in a variety of positions within the Economic Group, including Head of Economic Analysis Department. He is currently Head of International Department of the Bank.

Bob Rankin, currently Head of Domestic Markets Department, has been appointed to replace Glenn Stevens as Head of International Department.

Frank Campbell, currently Head of Economic Analysis Department, has been appointed to replace Bob Rankin as Head of Domestic Markets Department.
