This figure shows the centrality of the RITS in the payments system. In 2013, RITS settled approximately .1 billion worth of interbank obligations on an RTGS basis on average each day; .5 billion through the SWIFT PDS feeder system and RITS Cash Transfers, and .6 billion through the Austraclear feeder system. During this time, RITS also settled netted interbank obligations from three other linked payment systems and FMIs. The average daily value of these obligations was .1 billion from CLS, .4 billion from ASX Settlement and .3 billion from retail payment systems. The gross value of payments giving rise to the obligations was .7 billion settled in CLS, .2 billion in ASX Settlement and .7 billion in the retail payment systems.
