Globalisation, Living Standards and Inequality: Recent Progress and Continuing Challenges
27–28 May 2002
The 2002 conference, jointly hosted by the Reserve Bank and the
Australian Treasury, brought together leading researchers and
policy advisors from the G-20 group of countries. Papers for the
conference were written by Nancy Birdsall, Centre for Global
Development, Washington DC; David Dollar, The World Bank; Steve
Dowrick, The Australian National University; Peter Harper, Australian
Bureau of Statistics; Ken Henry, Australian Treasury; Adarsh Kishore,
Ministry of Finance, India; Timothy Smeeding, Luxembourg Income Study;
Robert Wade, London School of Economics and Political Science; and
Shang-Jin Wei, International Monetary Fund.
A volume, containing the conference papers and discussions, was
published on 16 September 2002.
