RBA/ESA Economics Competition 2012

The Reserve Bank of Australia sponsors an essay competition for undergraduates studying economics at any accredited university in Australia. The competition is run by the Bank in conjunction with the UNSW Economics Society.

The 2012 Essay

In their essays, students addressed the main forces driving economic growth in China.

Winning Essays 2012

  • First prize ($2,000): Sidney Powell, The University of Adelaide
  • Second prize ($1,000): Andrew O’Connor, University of New South Wales
  • Best essay from a first year student ($500): Minna Featherstone, Australian National University

These students were presented with their prizes by the Governor at a ceremony at the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney on 4 October 2012.
