Most importantly, potential Trainees will need to demonstrate an interest in the RBA and in developing professional skills in a corporate IT environment.

These positions are well suited to recent school leavers. Due to program requirements, candidates are ineligible if they have completed any previous qualification at a level higher than Certificate II.

Candidates are encouraged to apply early, because those submitted early will be processed first and may be eligible for early offers.

IT Trainees work for two years in a dynamic technical IT operations environment while studying a Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology and key modules from a Certificate IV in Information Technology.

The IT Traineeship program offers an opportunity to develop essential Information Technology skills and contribute to a variety of applied technology projects. IT Trainees' responsibilities combine general IT operational tasks, customer service, and performing first level activities in a variety of IT sections on a rotational basis. IT Trainees will get exposure to Service Desk, Networking, Servers, Security, Operations, and Application Support as part of these rotations.

Applicants must demonstrate a keen drive to succeed in the traineeship and an alignment with a career in IT by either completing their HSC with at least one IT-related subject, or by completing other equivalent studies related to information technology. Evidence of an interest in IT, in computer programming, in building or networking computers, or in using professional IT tools at home and/or during work experience placements would be a significant advantage.
