Monetary Policy in Open Economies

15–16 December 2008

The Reserve Bank of Australia is organising a research workshop on Monetary Policy in Open Economies to be held in Sydney on 15–16 December 2008 and has issued a call for papers. The purpose of the workshop is to bring together academics and practitioners to discuss recent developments in open economy macroeconomics. This year preference will be given to papers on the following topics:

  • the effects of the terms of trade on the economy
  • financial intermediation and monetary policy
  • DSGE estimation, factor models and policy evaluations
  • learning and DSGE estimation

We also invite contributions in other areas of economics relevant to monetary policy.

Those interested in participating should e-mail a draft of their paper to workshop@rba.gov.au no later than 15 September 2008. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by 10 October. Accommodation will be provided. Funds for travel expenses are available for academic participants.
