Travel Instructions
Bus
The route 200 bus service, operating between Chatswood and Bondi Junction, stops outside the Museum building at Macquarie Street and Martin Place, City.
For York Street bus routes into the City, we recommend alighting at Wynyard Park and walking up Martin Place. For George Street bus routes into the City, we recommend alighting close to Martin Place and walking up Martin Place.
Ferry
Alight at Circular Quay for bus routes 372, 373 or X73 to Martin Place (Elizabeth Street) and walk up Martin Place to the Museum.
Train
The Museum is close to two train stations: Martin Place and St James. Wynyard Station is about a 15 minute walk.
Parking
Parking stations close by include:
- A 360 space underground car park is available at Cook + Phillip Park.

The Museum is open between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday except Public and New South Wales Bank holidays.

Activities
Talks
The Museum offers talks to groups, including school groups, on:
- the Reserve Bank and its main functions
- the framework for monetary policy
- Australian banknotes, including they are produced and their security features
And those with special interests in the Museum’s historic collection of notes and artefacts can receive a guided tour by staff.
There is a lift that enables access for prams and wheelchairs to the Museum.
Regular Events
The Museum is always open on Australia Day, and participates in both NAIDOC Week and History Week.
