A New Era – Polymer Currency Notes: 1988 Onwards

Exports of Polymer Notes

The advanced technology used in Australian currency notes, with its advantages for anti-counterfeiting, durability and recycling, has attracted considerable interest from other countries.

By 2013, twenty nine (29) countries have issued polymer notes.

To date the majority of polymer note in circulation throughout the world have been printed on Australian-made polymer substrate.
