SENIOR APPOINTMENT

The Reserve Bank of Australia today announced the appointment of Mr Keith Hall as Assistant Governor (Banking and Payments). This role oversees the Bank’s provision of banking and payment services to financial institutions, governments and international organisations, including the system that supports the settlement of high‑value payments and interbank obligations in Australia. The new position follows a rearrangement of responsibilities of Dr Bob Rankin, to focus on the Bank’s currency services.  As well as being responsible for the distribution of currency notes, Dr Rankin has been appointed Chairman of Note Printing Australia Limited and Chairman of Securency International Pty Ltd.

Mr Hall holds an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Wales, and a M.Sc of Economics from the London School of Economics. He has held a variety of senior management positions in the Bank, including Head of International Department, Head of Financial Stability Department and Head of Personnel.
