Announcement of Appointment to Auction Numismatic BanknoteS

On 1 February 2007, the Reserve Bank of Australia announced that from 28 February 2007 the Royal Australian Mint would cease selling numismatic banknotes on its behalf.  The Bank also announced that arrangements would be made to auction numismatic banknotes towards the end of 2007.

Following a tender process, the Bank has appointed Downies to conduct an auction of first and last prefix banknotes, and to sell uncirculated banknotes.
