ABS TO PUBLISH THE RBA’S CONSUMER PRICE MEASURES

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) have agreed that, commencing with the release of the June quarter CPI on 25 July 2007, the ABS will publish the trimmed mean and weighted median measures of underlying inflation on behalf of the Bank. This will ensure more timely publication of these data.
