SENIOR APPOINTMENT

The Reserve Bank today announced the appointment of Dr Christopher Kent to the position of Head of Economic Research.

Dr Kent, a graduate of the Australian National University, holds a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has had extensive experience in economic research and policy analysis both at the Reserve Bank and the IMF. His research has focused on inflation targeting, the role of asset prices in monetary policy and financial stability issues. Prior to this appointment, Dr Kent was Deputy Head of Economic Analysis Department at the Reserve Bank.
