DESIGNATION OF THE EFTPOS SYSTEM
The Australian Merchant Payments Forum (AMPF) and its members have asked the Reserve Bank for a statement of the reasons for its decision to designate the EFTPOS system on 9 September 2004.
The Bank has today provided the AMPF with a document setting out its reasons. The document is available on the Bank's website.
