ELECTRONIC MEDIA – MONEY MARKET CASH POSITION

At 9.30 am each day, the Reserve Bank publishes, via the electronic media, the estimated money market cash position together with information on tender settlements of Commonwealth Government Securities due on the day and the dealing intentions of the Reserve Bank. The relevant pages are RBA27 (Reuters), 1587 (Dow Jones) and RBA8 (Bloomberg).

It has been decided to make two changes to the information presented on these pages:

• as tender settlements are a factor affecting the estimated money market cash position, they will be included in the cash position figure rather than shown separately; and
• the target cash rate effective that day will be added to these pages.

These changes will be implemented from 23 May 2001.
