SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF MONETARY POLICY

As part of the framework of Reserve Bank accountability outlined in the Treasurer's Statement on the Conduct of Monetary Policy in August 1996, the Governor will report on the conduct of monetary policy twice a year to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Financial Institutions and Public Administration. The first of the appearances before the Committee is on Thursday, 8 May 1997, in Sydney. The Bank will issue the first Semi-Annual Report at 10.00 am AEST on Thursday, 8 May 1997.

The Report will be available from the Reserve Bank, 65 Martin Place, Sydney and all Reserve Bank branches, for collection at 10.00 am on Thursday, 8 May 1997. The Report will be reproduced in the Reserve Bank of Australia Bulletin for May 1997 which is scheduled for release on 19 May 1997.
