SENIOR APPOINTMENT

The Reserve Bank today announced the appointment of Dr Malcolm Edey as Head of Economic Analysis Department. Dr Edey joined the Reserve Bank in 1977, and has held a number of positions in the Bank's Economic Group, most recently Head of Economic Research Department. He also worked for three years in the Economics Department of the OECD. He has a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, and a PhD from the London School of Economics.

This appointment creates a vacancy as Head of Economic Research Department. The Bank will advertise internally and externally for this position.
