RELEASE ADVICES
Australia has recently subscribed, along with over thirty other countries, to the International Monetary Fund's Special Data Dissemination Standard. This Standard relates to the coverage, periodicity, and timeliness of publication of certain key macro-economic and financial statistics.
The Standard requires that adequate notice of statistical releases be provided in the form of "release calendars". The Reserve Bank of Australia is responsible for the publication of certain statistics and will in future issue a media release every Friday, to provide precise dates for expected releases during the next week, and scheduled dates for those expected over the following three months.
The first weekly media release by the Bank containing the Schedule of
Expected Release Dates is being issued today and is attached
for information.
