FINANCIAL SERVICES
The Bank conducts accounts for the Australian Government
and its agencies. It also conducts accounts for Australian financial institutions
(exchange settlement accounts) and for central banks and similar organisations
in other countries.
The Bank maintains and operates a registry system
for recording ownership of Commonwealth Treasury Notes and Bonds. Other
registry clients include various domestic and foreign institutions.

The Bank operates a facility whereby investors may
buy or sell Commonwealth Government Bonds through the Reserve Bank at market-related
