PAYMENTS SYSTEM
This section provides an outline of the major features
of the Australian payments system and available data, the role of the Payments
System Board, and the Reserve Bank's payment operations.
The Reserve Bank operates the system through
which interbank settlement of payment obligations occurs (known as RITS)
and acts as Collator of low value clearing obligations This section also
contains links to publications
on payment issues, plus links to external
websites, and to Australian legislation
related to cheques, electronic transactions and payment systems.
