RBA ECONOMICS COMPETITION 2007

The Reserve Bank of Australia sponsors an essay competition for undergraduates studying economics at any accredited university in Australia. The competition is run by the Bank in conjunction with the UNSW Economics Society.

The 2007 Essay

In their essays, students addressed the consequences of an ageing population for Australia's future productivity and economic growth, and the associated economic policy challenges.

Winning Essays 2007

First prize of $1500 to Callum Jones, the University of Western Australia - PDF 149K

Second prize of $750 to Virginia Gogan, the University of Western Australia - PDF 40K

Best essay from a first year student of $500 to Ashley Cheng, the University of New South Wales - PDF 75K

These students were presented with their prizes by the Governor at a ceremony at the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney on 15 October 2007.
