With the increasing importance of environmental awareness around the world, it is significant that polymer note waste is recyclable. Paper notes are very difficult to recycle at the end of their useful life, but polymer notes (and the waste from production) are granulated and recycled into useful plastic products such as compost bins, plumbing fittings and other household and industrial products.

And as polymer notes last around four times as long as paper notes, there is less waste which is good news for both the environment and the economy.
